RAF Bristol Buckingham B1 KV303 Boscombe Down c1945 Photo Print
A Royal Air Force Bristol Buckingham B.1 bomber, KV303 of the Aeroplane and Armament Experimental Establishment, stands chocked on the grass at Boscombe Down, Wiltshire, around 1945. Seen from low down off its port bow, it shows its two large radial engines with four-bladed propellers, the long wing and one of its twin fins, and the fairing of the ventral gondola beneath the fuselage, with the flat airfield stretching away behind.
The Buckingham grew out of a wartime requirement for a fast medium bomber to follow the Blenheim, and it first flew in February 1943 with Bristol Centaurus engines. Poor stability meant the twin fins had to be enlarged, and by the time it was ready the Mosquito had already taken over its intended role. Only 119 were built, most of them serving as fast couriers, and the unfinished airframes became Buckmaster trainers. Its wings, tail and undercarriage lived on in the Brigand, and KV303 itself went to Boscombe Down for trials.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
