RAF Bristol Buckmaster T1 RP122 Boscombe Down c1945 Photo Print
A Royal Air Force Bristol Buckmaster T.1 advanced trainer, RP122 of No. 1 Flight, D Squadron, Aeroplane and Armament Experimental Establishment, stands chocked on the rough grass at Boscombe Down, Wiltshire, around 1945. Seen from ahead and slightly to one side under a clear sky, it shows its two big radial engines with four-bladed propellers, the serial RP122 and a roundel beneath the wing, the serial repeated on the fuselage and its twin fins, with low hills on the horizon.
The Buckmaster was Bristol’s answer to an Air Ministry call for a fast, unarmed, dual-control trainer, built by giving the Buckingham bomber a new nose with side-by-side seats for pupil and instructor. It first flew in October 1944, and many of the 112 built used Buckingham airframes left unfinished when bomber production was cut. Used mainly to prepare crews for the Brigand, it was said to be the highest-performance trainer in the RAF, and it served until the mid-1950s.
This print is ideal for Royal Air Force veterans, former Buckmaster and Brigand crews, and anyone with a connection to Boscombe Down or the Bristol Aeroplane Company.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
Your order will be crafted by award-winning framing technicians based in central England, with decades of combined experience. Using the finest FUJI professional photographic papers and premium materials, they ensure exceptional print and frame quality.
Our hand-picked craftsmen and women work with state-of-the-art printing and cutting equipment, yet every frame is still assembled by hand and subject to rigorous quality checks. Their dedication consistently results in outstanding work, appreciated by many returning customers.
