RAF Buccaneer S2B XX900 Bruntingthorpe May 2015 Photo Print
Buccaneer S2B XX900 taxies along the runway at Bruntingthorpe in Leicestershire during the Cold War Jets Open Day on 24 May 2015. The crew sit in the tandem cockpit under the raised framing of the canopy, the nose gear light is on and the refuelling probe stands up ahead of the windscreen. The airframe wears a weathered camouflage finish, with a red and blue fin flash and the last three digits of its serial on the tail.
Blackburn designed the Buccaneer at Brough for the Royal Navy as a low-level carrier strike aircraft, and the RAF took it on from 1969 for overland and maritime attack. In the 1991 Gulf War Buccaneers flew laser designation sorties for Tornado bombers, shortly before the type left RAF service in 1994. A handful of survivors are kept in taxiable condition at Bruntingthorpe, a former wartime and Cold War airfield, where open days let the public watch them run along the long runway.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
