RAF C-130J Hercules Loading Iraq Aid Brize Norton August 2014 Photo Print
A Royal Air Force C-130J Hercules is loaded with humanitarian aid at night at RAF Brize Norton, Oxfordshire, on 8 August 2014, ready for an air drop over northern Iraq. Seen from behind on a rain soaked apron, the aircraft has her rear ramp open and her hold lit, with a flatbed loader backed up to it carrying netted pallets topped with parachute packs. A floodlight flares beside the tail fin, and the red tail lights of the loader are reflected in the wet concrete. The loads held clean water in jerry cans, tents, tarpaulins and solar lights for people who had fled ISIL.
The C-130J Hercules entered Royal Air Force service at the end of the 1990s and moved from RAF Lyneham to RAF Brize Norton in 2011. It was the RAF's main tactical transport, used for air drops, short strip landings and relief work around the world. The aid flights to Iraq in August 2014 came at the start of what became Operation Shader. The RAF retired the Hercules in June 2023.
This print is ideal for RAF Hercules crews, movers and air despatchers, RAF veterans and anyone with a connection to RAF Brize Norton.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
Your order will be crafted by award-winning framing technicians based in central England, with decades of combined experience. Using the finest FUJI professional photographic papers and premium materials, they ensure exceptional print and frame quality.
Our hand-picked craftsmen and women work with state-of-the-art printing and cutting equipment, yet every frame is still assembled by hand and subject to rigorous quality checks. Their dedication consistently results in outstanding work, appreciated by many returning customers.
