RAF C-17 Globemaster ZZ176 Head-On Close Up Alert April 2026 Photo Print
A Royal Air Force C-17 Globemaster, ZZ176, faces the camera squarely on the snow at Canadian Forces Station Alert in Nunavut, Canada, on 15 April 2026. The shot is taken from ground level, so drifted snow fills the soft foreground and the grey aircraft rises above it, nose and four engines dead ahead with the tall T tail standing over the fuselage. Her serial is painted on both sides of the nose, small marker posts stand on the snow in front of her, and a few station buildings show as specks of colour on the white horizon to the left. She was at Alert for Exercise Polar Puma, helping the Royal Canadian Air Force fly fuel into the station.
The C-17 has been the RAF's heavy airlifter since 2001, when the first four arrived on lease. The fleet later grew to eight aircraft, all flown by 99 Squadron from RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire. It can carry outsize loads such as helicopters and armoured vehicles over intercontinental distances and still land on short or rough strips.

We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
