RAF Chinook from Ramp Exercise Greyhound Thunder July 2026 Photo Print
A Royal Air Force Chinook flies alongside another during Exercise Greyhound Thunder at RAF Odiham on 28th July 2026, photographed from the open rear ramp of the second helicopter. The Chinook hangs in the middle of the frame, starboard side on, with its wheels down, its twin rotors blurred and a crewman visible in the open cabin door. The dark shape of the ramp-mounted machine gun cuts across the left foreground, and the edge of the ramp, wet with rain, runs along the bottom. Above, the sky is heaped with white cloud broken by patches of blue, with a line of hills just visible on the far left.
Greyhound Thunder brought together 18 and 27 Squadrons from RAF Odiham with 3 PARA and an aggressor squadron to build the crews’ and soldiers’ readiness for modern conflict. Across the week the training grew steadily harder: tactical and formation flying, combat assault drills, and day and night missions in a simulated threat environment. Flying took place on the airfield by day and over Longmoor Training Area by night. RAF Odiham in Hampshire is home to the UK Chinook Force and its three Chinook squadrons, ready to support British operations anywhere in the world.

We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
