RAF Chinook HC3 Landing at Shawbury c2016 Photo Print
A Royal Air Force Chinook HC3 from RAF Odiham comes in to land at RAF Shawbury in Shropshire, stopping for fuel on the way back to its home station. Seen from just off the nose with its wheels a few feet from the ground and its landing lights on, the helicopter fills the frame beneath its two rotors. Both pilots are visible through the cockpit glazing, and a crewman leans out of the forward door to watch the ground below, with bare woodland and a blue sky behind.
The Chinook has served with the Royal Air Force since 1980 and is its heavy lift helicopter, used for trooping, resupply, casualty evacuation and underslung loads. Eight HC3 aircraft were ordered in 1995 with enlarged fuel tanks for long range work, but problems with their avionics kept them in storage for years. They finally joined the front line from 2009, after being brought to a standard close to the rest of the fleet at RAF Odiham in Hampshire.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
