RAF 84 Squadron Griffin HAR2 Exercise Lion Star Cyprus July 2021 Photo Print
A Royal Air Force Griffin HAR2 of 84 Squadron passes low over the camera, seen head-on from below, during Exercise Lion Star in Cyprus on 16 July 2021. Its downwash has thrown fragments of dry grass and debris into the air, the landing light is on under the nose, and a crew member in a yellow helmet is just visible through the windscreen. Red bands on the underside and a small Union flag on the nose show against the grey airframe and a clear blue sky.
84 Squadron has been based at RAF Akrotiri since the early 1970s and is the only flying squadron permanently stationed in Cyprus, carrying a scorpion on its badge. The Griffin HAR2, a twin-engined Bell 412, flew search and rescue, casualty evacuation and troop-lift tasks for the island and the British Forces based there. On Exercise Lion Star in 2021 the squadron worked with 53 Enabling and Headquarters Squadron of the British Army, flying staged medical evacuations and troop pick-ups in the summer heat.
This print is ideal for 84 Squadron aircrew and engineers and anyone who served at RAF Akrotiri or with British Forces Cyprus.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
Your order will be crafted by award-winning framing technicians based in central England, with decades of combined experience. Using the finest FUJI professional photographic papers and premium materials, they ensure exceptional print and frame quality.
Our hand-picked craftsmen and women work with state-of-the-art printing and cutting equipment, yet every frame is still assembled by hand and subject to rigorous quality checks. Their dedication consistently results in outstanding work, appreciated by many returning customers.
