RAF Harrier GR9 Jets Line Up for Afghanistan Sortie 2008 Photo Print
Royal Air Force Harrier GR9s of Joint Force Harrier stand nose to tail along the flight line at a Middle East base in 2008, ready for a sortie over Afghanistan. More ground crew wait by each aircraft down the line, and behind them are a grey helicopter, a tan arched hangar and a single palm tree under a hazy sky.
The GR9 was an extensively updated GR7, with new avionics and the ability to carry a wider range of precision weapons. It was flown by Joint Force Harrier, which brought RAF and Royal Navy squadrons together under one command after the Sea Harrier was withdrawn. From 2004 Harriers flew close air support for British and coalition troops in southern Afghanistan for almost five years. The whole fleet was retired in December 2010 after the Strategic Defence and Security Review.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
