RAF Nimrod MR2 From Above Over the Sea March 2005 Photo Print
A Royal Air Force Nimrod MR2 photographed from directly above as it flies over a dark, wind-flecked sea on 31 March 2005. The whole hemp-coloured airframe is laid out in plan view, from the refuelling probe on the nose to the long tail boom, with the pods on the wings and wingtips and the jet exhausts in the wing roots clearly visible.
The Nimrod was developed from the Comet airliner and gave the RAF its first jet maritime patrol aircraft, hunting submarines and surface ships far out over the North Atlantic and also flying search and rescue cover. The MR2 was based at RAF Kinloss on the Moray Firth. The MOD files this photo under the disbandment of 206 Squadron, one of the Kinloss Nimrod squadrons, which stood down that spring. The MR2 flew its last sorties in 2010.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
