RAF Red Arrows Five Hawks Close Echelon April 2024 Photo Print
The Red Arrows, the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, fly five Hawk T1s in a tight echelon on 8th April 2024, during their final week of UK pre-season practice from RAF Waddington. The chase jet sits just above and alongside, so all five are seen from their port side as they head to the left of the frame, each stepped back and down from the one ahead, and all trailing white smoke. The “60” of the team’s 60th season shows on the Union flag fins and beside the roundels, a helmeted pilot is visible in the front cockpit of the nearest jet, and below them are grass, a stretch of concrete and the roof of a large grey building.
Each display Hawk carries a pod beneath its fuselage holding diesel and dyes. Diesel pumped into the hot exhaust of the single Adour engine makes the white smoke, and dye added to it turns the trail red or blue. The smoke shows the crowd the shape of each manoeuvre and lets the pilots see the paths of the jets around them.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
