RAF Red Arrows Hawk T1 D-Day 80 Normandy Memorial June 2024 Photo Print
A Royal Air Force Hawk T1 of the Red Arrows flies high above the British Normandy Memorial at Ver-sur-Mer on 6th June 2024, during the flypast for the UK’s national commemoration of the 80th anniversary of D-Day. Taken through the canopy of a neighbouring aircraft, the photo shows the nearest jet close alongside with ROYAL AIR FORCE on her fuselage and the “60” of the Diamond Season by the roundel and on her Union Flag fin, with more Hawks beyond her and blue smoke trailing behind. Far below, under a grey, broken sky, crowds fill the memorial’s terraces on the hillside, with white marquees nearby, a line of coaches parked along the road and Normandy farmland stretching away to the horizon.
The Red Arrows were formed in 1964 and flew their first display season in 1965 with the Folland Gnat, changing to the BAE Systems Hawk for the 1980 season. The Hawk T1 had entered RAF service in 1976 as an advanced jet trainer, and the team has flown it ever since. The 2024 season was the team’s 60th, marked by the special tail and fuselage markings seen here.

We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
