RAF Regiment Ceremonial Sword Parade Buckingham Palace April 2023 Photo Print
An RAF Regiment officer returns his sword to its scabbard in the gardens of Buckingham Palace on 27 April 2023, head bowed beneath the peak of his cap and white gloves on the gilt hilt. The R.A.F. Regiment shoulder title, the gold-laced shoulder belt with its crown badges and the blue and gold waist belt stand out sharply, while a rank of guardsmen in scarlet tunics fills the background on one side and RAF airmen in blue on the other. It was taken on the day His Majesty King Charles III presented new standards and colours to the Royal Navy, the Household Cavalry, the Grenadier Guards and the Royal Air Force ahead of his Coronation.
The RAF Regiment was formed on 1 February 1942 to defend airfields, after the losses of 1940 and 1941 showed how exposed aircraft on the ground could be. Its gunners fought in North West Europe and Burma during the Second World War and have since served in Northern Ireland, the Gulf and Afghanistan. The Regiment also provides the King's Colour Squadron, which paraded the RAF's new Colour at this ceremony.

We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
