RAF 1435 Flight Tornado F3 Pair Backlit Falklands March 2007 Photo Print
Two Royal Air Force Tornado F3s of 1435 Flight fly one above the other over the Falkland Islands on 27 March 2007, seen almost in silhouette against a bright, broken sky. The red and white fin flashes are just visible on both tails, and a hazy ridge of brown moorland runs across the foot of the frame. Photographed by Cpl Darren Smith.
1435 Flight began in Malta in 1941, which is why its aircraft carry a Maltese cross on the fin. It was reformed at Mount Pleasant in 1988 to hold the air defence of the islands, and the Tornado F3 replaced its Phantoms in 1992. By tradition its fighters were named Faith, Hope, Charity and Desperation after the Gladiators that defended Malta.

This print is ideal for RAF veterans, anyone who served a Falklands tour at Mount Pleasant and anyone with a connection to 1435 Flight or the Tornado F3.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
Your order will be crafted by award-winning framing technicians based in central England, with decades of combined experience. Using the finest FUJI professional photographic papers and premium materials, they ensure exceptional print and frame quality.
Our hand-picked craftsmen and women work with state-of-the-art printing and cutting equipment, yet every frame is still assembled by hand and subject to rigorous quality checks. Their dedication consistently results in outstanding work, appreciated by many returning customers.
