RAF Tornado GR4 Carrying Training Stores September 2009 Photo Print
A Royal Air Force Tornado GR4, tail code 078, climbs away in a gentle bank against high cloud in this close air-to-air photograph taken on 29 September 2009. It carries a heavy training load: two large fuel tanks under the wings, missiles, blue-painted inert weapons and a carrier of small practice bombs under the fuselage, and a self-defence pod on the outer wing pylon. A gold star on the fin and green and yellow checks either side of the nose roundel stand out against the grey paint.
Carrying inert or practice versions of real weapons let crews and armourers rehearse loading, handling and release without live explosives, and showed how the aircraft flew at full weight. The Tornado GR4 served the RAF until March 2019, with a final operational tour against Daesh over Iraq and Syria under Operation Shader. By then the RAF's Tornado force had flown in the Gulf, the Balkans, Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
