RAF 11 Squadron Typhoon FGR4 Cockpit Pitch Black Darwin July 2024 Photo Print
A Royal Air Force Typhoon FGR4 of XI(F) Squadron stands in near silhouette at Darwin, Australia, in July 2024, its canopy raised while the pilot settles into the cockpit before the squadron's first sortie of Exercise Pitch Black. The sun sits low beneath the pointed nose, the name Sqn Ldr E Thomas can just be read below the cockpit rail, and the low roofs of the airfield buildings line the horizon.
XI Squadron was formed in 1915 and is one of the oldest flying squadrons in the world, now operating the Typhoon from RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire. Six of its Typhoons were based at Royal Australian Air Force Darwin for Pitch Black 2024, which ran from 12 July to 2 August. That year the exercise drew 20 nations and more than 140 aircraft, the largest in its history.

We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
