RFA Mounts Bay L3008 Bay Class Ship March 2016 Starboard Quarter View Photo Print
RFA Mounts Bay (L3008), a Royal Fleet Auxiliary Bay Class landing ship, is shown from low on her starboard quarter in March 2016, looking straight at the closed stern gate of her well dock with "MOUNTS BAY LONDON" painted on the transom. Smoke trails from both exhausts, a line of dark green Mexeflote sections hangs on her side and an orange lifeboat sits in its recess beneath the superstructure. The sea is calm under a broken blue sky.
The stern gate seen here closes off the floodable well dock that sets the Bay class apart from a conventional cargo ship: she can ballast down so that landing craft float in and out, while a flight deck above takes helicopters as large as a Chinook. The Mexeflote powered rafts carried on her sides can be lowered and joined together to land vehicles and stores across a beach where there is no port.
This print is ideal for RFA deck and dock crews and anyone with a connection to the landing craft and Mexeflote teams who worked from Mounts Bay.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
