RFA Olna A123 Ol Class Tanker September 1969 Photo Print
RFA Olna (A123), a Royal Fleet Auxiliary Ol Class tanker, steams in company with the aircraft carrier HMS Eagle (R05) and the stores ship RFA Resource (A480) during Exercise Peacekeeper on 24 September 1969. In this black and white aerial view Eagle sits in the middle, her flight deck crowded with parked aircraft, with Olna on her far side and Resource closing on the near side, all three ships working up a wash as they hold station together.
Olna was the third of the Ol Class fast fleet tankers, designed to keep pace with the Royal Navy's carrier task groups so that warships could be refuelled without slowing down. She was built by Hawthorn Leslie at Hebburn and entered service in 1966, among the largest and fastest ships the Royal Fleet Auxiliary had yet operated. Replenishing a carrier with a tanker on one side and a stores ship on the other allowed fuel and supplies to be taken on in a single approach.
This print is ideal for Royal Fleet Auxiliary veterans, those who served in RFA Olna, HMS Eagle or RFA Resource, and anyone with a connection to NATO carrier operations in the late 1960s.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
