RFA Sir Lancelot L3029 Round Table Class Ship 1982 Photo Print
RFA Sir Lancelot (L3029), a Royal Fleet Auxiliary Round Table Class ship, lies motionless on flat, misty water in this black and white view from above and astern, looking along her port side towards the bow. A small helicopter sits on the flight deck over her stern, vehicles and deck cargo crowd her forward deck, and a boat is tied up alongside, while a dark scar stands out on her hull below the superstructure. The listing records the photograph as taken in San Carlos Water in June 1982.
On 24 May 1982, while unloading in San Carlos Water during the Falklands landings, Sir Lancelot was struck by a 1,000 lb bomb dropped by an Argentine aircraft. The bomb passed into the ship but did not go off, and she had to be abandoned until it could be dealt with by bomb disposal experts. She was one of several landing ships hit by bombs that failed to explode in those weeks, and she went on to serve for several more years.
This print is ideal for Falklands veterans of the amphibious group, the Royal Fleet Auxiliary crews who manned the landing ships in 1982, and anyone with a connection to the San Carlos landings.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
