RFA Wave Knight A389 Wave Class Tanker June 2017 At Anchor Low Port View Photo Print
RFA Wave Knight (A389), a Royal Fleet Auxiliary Wave Class tanker, lies at anchor on 13 June 2017, taken from close to the waterline off her port bow so that her grey hull rises steeply out of the frame. Her anchor cable drops straight down into choppy water, a Blue Ensign flies from the staff on her forecastle, and green hills sit low on the horizon under a broken, cloudy sky.
The Wave Class were designed as fast fleet tankers of roughly 31,500 tonnes, with double hulls and diesel-electric propulsion. Besides fuel, she carries fresh water, dry stores and some ammunition, and her flight deck and hangar allow her to operate a helicopter. Like every RFA ship she is manned by civilian merchant mariners of the Royal Fleet Auxiliary rather than by the Royal Navy.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
