40 Commando Royal Marine Crescent Moon Helmand December 2012 Photo Print
A Royal Marine of 40 Commando aims his rifle as a thin crescent moon hangs in the deep blue sky above the Torghai area of central Helmand, Afghanistan, on 14 December 2012. He is in full silhouette against the sky, with a night vision mount and scrim on his helmet and a sight on his rifle.
40 Commando took command in the Nahr-e Saraj district of Helmand in September 2012 on Operation Herrick 17, and was the last full Royal Marines commando group to serve in Afghanistan, coming home in April 2013. The Taunton based unit had been the first British unit into Afghanistan in 2001, securing Bagram airfield, and had served in Helmand on Herrick 7 in 2007 to 2008 and in Sangin on Herrick 12 in 2010.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
