Royal Navy Corsair 1833 NAS in Flight USA 1943 Photo Print
A Royal Navy Vought Corsair of 1833 Naval Air Squadron, Fleet Air Arm, flies above banks of white cumulus during training in the United States in 1943, seen from slightly above her port side in black and white with her propeller turning and the pilot visible under the canopy. The code 6A and a roundel are carried on her fuselage, with another roundel on the wing, while coastline, water and open country lie far below through gaps in the cloud.
1833 Naval Air Squadron formed at the US Naval Air Station Quonset Point, Rhode Island, on 15 July 1943, one of several Fleet Air Arm squadrons raised in America on Lend-Lease Corsairs. After working up, it joined 1830 Squadron in the 15th Naval Fighter Wing and landed on HMS Illustrious (87) in December 1943, going on to fly strikes over Sumatra and then serve with the British Pacific Fleet before disbanding in July 1945. The squadron was later revived as a Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve unit from 1947 until the reserve air squadrons were disbanded in 1957.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
