Royal Navy Guard Marching The Mall London May 2023 Photo Print
Looking down from a building above the route on Coronation Day, 6 May 2023, the Royal Navy and Royal Marines contingent comes off a sanded stretch of road on to wet tarmac, with a Union Flag hanging in the foreground. A Royal Marines band in white helmets leads, headed by its drum major in a red sash, followed by four platoons of sailors with fixed bayonets, each with a sword-carrying officer out front. Further back comes a detachment of Royal Marines in white helmets, an ornate lamp stands on its plinth to the left, and police officers line the barriers on the right on a grey day.
The Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla was the largest ceremonial military operation in Britain for 70 years, with more than 6,000 sailors, soldiers and aviators from the UK and the Commonwealth taking part in processions, flypasts and gun salutes. Almost 4,000 of them marched in the great Coronation Procession that brought the newly crowned King and Queen back from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace. Sand was laid along parts of the route to give the horses of the procession a sure footing.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
