Royal Navy Gunnery Crew 21 Gun Salute May 2023 Photo Print
A saluting gun on the Quarterdeck at HMS Drake, Plymouth, bursts into a ball of flame on 6 May 2023, the day of the Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla. Thick smoke hangs over the paving and turns the scene soft and orange, with gunners in white anti-flash hoods at two guns and three figures in naval uniform standing watching in the foreground. Dockyard cranes show faintly through the haze, and a bed of red and yellow flowers edges the bottom of the frame.
The Devonport gunners fired at the moment the St Edward's Crown was placed on the King's head, one of many 21-gun salutes fired together at stations around the United Kingdom, in Gibraltar, Cyprus and Bermuda, and by Royal Navy ships at sea. HMS Drake is the shore establishment at the heart of HM Naval Base Devonport, the largest naval base in Western Europe.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
