Royal Navy Hawker Sea Hawk F1 898 NAS Formation 1954 Photo Print
Five Royal Navy Hawker Sea Hawk F.1 jet fighters of 898 Naval Air Squadron, Fleet Air Arm, fly in loose formation above a hazy landscape in 1954. Seen from the starboard side, the leading pair, coded 107 and 100, fly ahead and above two more coded 104 and 106, while the nose of a fifth aircraft just enters the lower corner of the frame, each carrying roundels on the fuselage and wings and the squadron badge on its nose.
The Sea Hawk was powered by a single Rolls-Royce Nene, whose exhaust split into two short jet pipes at the wing roots, leaving the rear fuselage free for fuel tanks and giving the aircraft its clean, simple lines. The F.1 was armed with four 20mm cannon, and later ground attack versions added bombs and rockets under the wings. Besides the Fleet Air Arm, Sea Hawks served with the navies of the Netherlands, West Germany and India, where they flew from the carrier INS Vikrant into the 1980s.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
