HMS Grafton (H89) Royal Navy G Class Destroyer at sea on 23 June 1936, shown in a port side view. This striking Royal Navy photo print captures the Destroyer in a clean broadside composition, highlighting the elegant lines and character of an inter-war British warship. The port side view and period setting make this a distinctive piece of military wall art, naval history decor and British maritime wall decor for collectors of Royal Navy Destroyer prints.
HMS Grafton (H89) was a G Class Destroyer built for the Royal Navy during the mid-1930s. During the Spanish Civil War of 1936 to 1939, she spent considerable time in Spanish waters enforcing the non-intervention measures agreed by Britain and France. After the outbreak of the Second World War, she was transferred from the Mediterranean Fleet to Great Britain for escort and contraband inspection duties. Following the start of the Norwegian Campaign in April 1940, she escorted convoys to Norway once her refit was completed. In May 1940, she helped evacuate British troops from the Dunkirk bridgehead before being sunk by a German submarine after stopping to rescue survivors from another British destroyer.
This military wall art photo print is ideal for Royal Navy veterans, Destroyer enthusiasts, naval history collectors and admirers of British maritime wall decor.
