HMS Burnaston was a Royal Navy Ton Class Minesweeper with the pennant number M1116. She was laid down on the 3rd of May 1951, built by Fleetlands at Gosport, and completed on the 3rd of March 1954 after a 34-month build. Commissioned in March 1954 for the 104th Minesweeping Squadron based at Harwich, she formed part of the Royal Navy’s Cold War mine warfare capability.
