HMS Crofton was a Royal Navy Ton Class Minesweeper with pennant number M1216. She was laid down on 3 September 1956, completed on 22 August 1958 and built by John I. Thornycroft at Woolston, Southampton as yard number 4173. Taking 23 months to build, she was commissioned on 27 August 1958 for the 108th Minesweeping Squadron based at Malta and recorded 26 years fully operational.
